Francois- Philippe champagne, canada’s Minister of Innovation, science and Industry , today announced that the first STEM round for category – based select under the Express Entry rpute will open in the week of Juy 5.

This draw will focus on candidates with STEM expertise ( science, Technology, Enginnering and Mathematicsstreams )- including data scientists, software developers and programmers, mathematicians , statiticians and actuaries, and electrical and electronics engineers.

It will help canada’s science and technology sector, bringing in the skilled talent that businesses need to drive innovation and achieve their growth potential, state immigration, Refugees and citizenship canada ,the countey’s immigration agency.

TOI earlier reported the launched – announcement of category – based selection for the Express Entry  program – a point – based popular route for indians to gain permanent residency in camada. India is the top source for immigrants under the Express Entry Route. In 2020, Indian citizens baggd 50,841 invites to apply for permanent residence in canada. Which was 47% of the total invites issued by its immigration agency.

This announcement advances the canadian government’s efforts to retain and recruit top candidates to address STEM workforce challenges, and builds on the recent launch of the Tech Talent Attraction Strategy, adds IRCC.
